Alex Fradkin began his photography career in 1996, originally having studied and practiced as an architect. In 2000 Alex graduated with an MFA in photography from Columbia College Chicago. Since then his photographs are frequently published internationally and exhibited in galleries and Museums. Alex’s photographs reside in numerous private, public and corporate collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Photography (Chicago), Portland Art Museum, Comer Foundation and the Park Hyatt Corp. Currently Alex is finishing a twelve-year project, Bunkers: Ruins of War in a New American Landscape to be published as a fine art monograph. This project was awarded the Aaron Siskind Foundation Award in 2010. In 2006 Alex Published his first book, The Left Coast: California on the Edge, University of California Press, 2011. He teaches photography at the International Center for Photography in Manhattan.
