The start of something new — FlakPhoto Digest.
We’re developing a new project, a weekly newsletter focused on photography + visual culture recommendations carefully curated from across the Web. You know, the good stuff that deserves a closer look. FlakPhoto Digest is currently in closed beta and will be available to the public later this year. You can request an invite by subscribing below.
Ian Baguskas was born in Philadelphia, and moved to New York on a full scholarship to the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where he received his BFA. Many of Baguskas' photographs are based on ideas of exploration, travel, habitation and resources in the American West. Ian has also spent some time in South Korea documenting the popular hiking culture throughout the country. Based in Brooklyn, Ian is represented by Jen Bekman Gallery in New York, where he exhibited his series, Sweet Water. Baguskas was named a PDN 30, was a winner of Magenta Foundation's Flash Forward award for emerging photographers, was honored as one of four finalists for the Aperture Portfolio Prize, and was a winner of the Ne Plus Ultra, Hey, Hot Shot! Annual. His work has been published in Theme, Flash Forward, Culture + Travel, Next American City, Photo Art, The Photo, Avenue L, Photo District News, Fader and Brooklyn Bound.
