Professor Janet L. Pritchard has been teaching at the University of Connecticut since 2001. She has an MA and MFA in Art Studio from the University of New Mexico. Pritchard photographs place with a special interest in the intersection of culture and nature. Her professional career has been marked by significant honors and awards, including: a University of Connecticut Humanities Institute Fellowship 2009-2010, a Ucross Foundation Artist Residency Grant, The American Antiquarian Society’s Jay & Deborah Last Fellowship, an Institute for Electronic Arts Fellowship at Alfred University, Artist Support Grants from the Polaroid Corporation, Educational Grant from Mamiya America Corporation and Project Support from the Eastman Kodak Corporation for America’s Uncommon Places. Her exhibitions include: International Center for Photography, New York; Fruitlands Museum, Massachusetts; Photographic Resource Center, Boston, Massachusetts; Sam Francis Gallery, Santa Monica, California; and the National Trust for Historic Preservation travelling exhibition America’s Uncommon Places.
