Matt Eich (b. 1986) is the oldest of four children and grew up in the peanut-farming town of Suffolk, Virginia. Eich studied photojournalism at Ohio University and his clients include National Geographic, Esquire, GQ, Harper’s, TIME, Mother Jones, Apple, Tiffany & Company and others. Matt has been named one of PDN’s 30 Emerging Photographers to Watch, has participated in the Joop Swart Masterclass and has received The Magenta Foundation’s Bright Spark Award. His work has been exhibited internationally in both group and solo shows and is in the permanent collections of The Portland Art Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston and the New York Public Library. These days Eich lives in Norfolk, Virginia with his wife and two children while preparing for an exhibition of new work at The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, opening September 12, 2013.
