Website - MichaelSebastian.com

Michael Sebastian was born in New Orleans, and raised in Louisiana and Texas. After completing his peripatetic years of medical school and residency training, he settled in central Kentucky to practice anesthesiology and make photographs. He lives in the Louisville area with his wife and two teenaged children. Michael photographs a variety of subject matter; but most frequently he is drawn to examine the contemporary suburban landscape and its interface with the people who shape it to their own ends, in series such as 52 Miles and Economalypse, the latter still in progress. His work has been widely seen in various online venues, and has been published in The New York Times Magazine, and has been licensed by major book publishers to illustrate literature textbooks. It has been exhibited both in the US and abroad, most recently at the 2011 Lishui Photographic Festival in China.
