Sarah Small

Pappa Sleeping, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Website - SarahSmall.com

Sarah Small was born in 1979 into a family of musicians. She fell in love with photography when she was 13. After graduating from RISD in 2001, Sarah moved to Brooklyn, where she currently lives and works. Her work has been published and exhibited extensively in the U.S. and internationally. Small has also been the recipient of numerous awards, recently being named by American Photo as one of the “Top 13 Emerging Photographers” working today. Concurrent to her still photographic works, Small is exploring The Delirium Constructions as living, breathing Tableau Vivant performances. This year she plans to complete production on a feature-length documentary film examining the human quest for intimacy and connection. When not creating visual art, Sarah sings and arranges vocal scores with her Balkan a Cappella quartet, Black Sea Hotel.
