Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Yijun Liao holds a MFA in photography from University of Memphis.She is a recipient of En Foco's New Works Photography Fellowship and was a winner of the Flash Forward Award, CPW Photography Now, and Hey, Hot Shot. Her photographs have been exhibited internationally, including NordArt (Germany), kunst licht Gallery (China), Arario Gallery (NY), VT Artsalon (Taiwan), Pingyao International Photography Fest (China), and the Lianzhou International Photography Fest (China). Liao is currently doing a studio residency at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and will have a darkroom residency at the Camera Club of New York in 2013. She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
