From the Archipelago series
Yolanda del Amo is a Spanish, Brooklyn-based artist whose work focuses on the psychological qualities that linger in the in-between spaces generated when having more than one figure in a photographic composition. Her photographs have been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, and have also received multiple awards, such as a commendation at the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2009 organized by the National Gallery in Washington DC. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Cité International des Arts in Paris, the Spanish Academy in Rome, Light Work in Syracuse, NY, the Terra Foundation of American Art in Giverny, France, and the Lower Manhattan Culture Council Workspace Program in New York City. She is an Assistant Professor of Photography and Digital Media at Ramapo College in New Jersey.
