Jane Tam (b. 1986) lives and works in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from Syracuse University. Her parents immigrated to New York City in the mid 1970s from Guangdong, China and took up blue-collar jobs such as truck driving and working in sweatshops in Chinatown. Most of her work explores the weaving of Chinese and American cultures and how it defines many offspring of working class immigrants. Jane has exhibited in venues including the Fotofest Biennial 2010 in Houston, Texas; Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts; Sasha Wolf Gallery in New York City; Daniel Cooney Fine Art in New York City; and the Pingyao International Photography Festival. She was awarded with the Emerging Photographer Award at the Pingyao Photography Festival in China.
