Rose Marie Cromwell (b. 1983) is an photographic artist originally from Seattle, Washington, and currently living and working between New York and Panama. Using photography she documents performances and still lifes that explore themes of intimacy, communication, social politics, and alternative notions of family and home. She was named one of 25 under 25 Up and Coming American Photographers by powerHouse books and The Center for Documentary Studies, and is a Fulbright Fellowship Scholar. Her first solo show was at the Diablo Rosso gallery in Panama City and she recently participated in the 1st Bienale del Sur in Panama City. Cromwell's work has been published online and in print in a variety of international magazines, including LayFlat.com and Vision Magazine, China. Cromwell completed her BFA in Art Photography at Maryland Institute of Art, and was awarded a Full Fellowship from Syracuse University where she recently graduated with an MFA in Art Photography. She is also a social practice artist, and a founder and director of the the alternative arts education initiative based in Panama, Cambio Creativo.
